Ken Starr MD Wellness Group in Arroyo Grande, CA, is the leading provider of substance abuse treatment services in San Luis Obispo County. We offer Detoxification, Medication-Assisted Treatment, Intensive Outpatient Programming (IOP), Substance Abuse Counseling, and Wellness Services, including a Ketamine Program and weight loss programs.
We are currently looking for a skilled clinician to join our team. We are looking for a licensed or pre-licensed, associate-level therapist with a background or interest in SUD treatment to support our clinical IOP program. We are also looking for a Substance Abuse Counselor who can facilitate groups. The position requires facilitation of individual and group counseling sessions.
Clinicians are expected to consistently maintain professional client rights standards and adhere to HIPPA and all local, State, and Federal laws. Must be able to type at least 50 words/minute and be computer literate.
Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a minimum Master's Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Therapy, or Addiction Studies. Active registration as an associate-level therapist with the Board of Behavioral Sciences. Substance Abuse Counseling certificate. CADC level
-Computer literate, Tech Savvy
Strong working knowledge of recovery programs as they relate to substance use disorders and application to an outpatient program
Necessary skills include knowledge and experience in addictive disorders and dual diagnostic treatment milieu, strong management skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills and knowledge of labor relations
Experience with treatment planning, discharge planning and documentation skills
Knowledge of treatment and referral community in California. Meet drug screening & background testing as per state and agency requirements
Understanding of ICD-10 and DSM V.

Part-time and Independent Contractor positions are available. Candidate must be available to work a minimum of one evening per week and be available to schedule individual counseling sessions during the hours of 8 am-5 pm. Mon-Fri. Must also be available to work a minimum of one Sunday per month (9:30am-1pm)
-Must hold active registration or licensure with the Board of Behavioral Sciences, also willing to consider registered addiction counselors with graduate-level education
