Here at Back Porch Bakery in San Luis Obispo, CA we are currently looking for multiple positions to help us fill our growing production bakery. We are hiring for multiple full time baker positions and a full time delivery driver to join our production team and help us grow and provide excellent bread and pastries to the restaurants of the central coast. We are known for our delicious Dutch crunch and French bread sold to High St and Lincoln and many of the croissants in local coffee shops like Kaffien, Kreuzberg and more! We are hiring for multiple positions, with a willingness to train the right candidate and opportunities for growth within the bakery! This is ideal for someone looking for a start in a bakery setting or getting more experience with different doughs and lamination.
Our ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, is punctual, and motivated. These positions are an integral part of our wholesale baking team. With shifts ranging from 1 AM-4AM start time, Its incredibly important to find someone who has a passion for the work and early hours. You will work with different batters and doughs, shape croissants, brioche products, pretzels, and more. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated with good time management skills, but works well as part of a diverse team. We will ensure you have a set schedule each week but are seeking FULL TIME EMPLOYEES.
Responsibilities Baker:
Bake various products such as breads, muffins, cookies, ect.
Shape different doughs for final product (buns, loaves, rolls, croissants, pretzels, etc.)
Set oven temperatures/times and monitor or modify as needed, removing bakes from the ovens.
Laminate croissant dough sheets
Bag/package final products with a focus on quality control
Clean and sanitize workstation and equipment
Help team with trash, dish pit, closing, etc.
Responsibilities Driver:
Follow packing lists and correctly pack and deliver orders to our customers
Follow delivery routes in a timely order and ensure quality and prompt delivery
Help with closing tasks in the bakery; trash, sweeping, dishes and end of day
Qualifications
Strong Work Ethic - in attendance, on time, and ready to work
Good time management
Attention to detail in all aspects of baking
Dedicated to working as a team towards one goal
Experience as a Baker for at least one year is ideal for our head baker shift. Willing to train a new hire on other positions.
Clean drivers record and valid drivers license
