Back Porch Bakery in San Luis Obispo, CA is looking for one baker to join our 33 person strong team. We're growing again and have a need for a new baker position. You will only be limited by your interest to learn and grow in the field. We are located at 289 Prado Road. Our ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, is punctual, and motivated.
This position is an integral part of our wholesale baking team. You will start work at 3AM, work with different doughs, shape croissants, brioche products, pretzels, and more. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, but works well as part of a diverse team. Baking experience is strongly preferred but we will train the right person. Your beginning schedule, which is subject to change as needed, will give you a regular work week with Friday and Saturday off! Attendance and Punctuality as well as a Good Attitude will be essential to your success here.
Responsibilities
Bake various products
Shape different doughs for final product (buns, loaves, rolls, croissants, pretzels, etc.)
Set oven temperatures/times and monitor or modify as needed
Prep baked goods for next day's bake
Prepare and maintain inventory of product for easy set-out (muffins, scones, etc.)
Bag/package final products with a focus on quality control
Clean and sanitize workstation and equipment
Help team with trash, dish pit, closing, etc.
Qualifications
Attention to detail in all aspects of baking
Dedicated to working as a team towards one goal
Experience as a Baker a plus
