A well-established construction company in the Paso Robles area is seeking an experienced Part-Time Full-Charge Bookkeeper to independently manage the financial accounting function. This position requires a highly skilled and self-directed professional who can take full ownership of the company's day-to-day and month-end financial processes.
You’ll work on-site in a casual office environment with a small team of colleagues and have the flexibility to create your own schedule during standard business hours (Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM). Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and manage the full chart of accounts and general ledger, including journal entries and adjusting entries
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and internal reports
Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and balance sheet accounts
Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely billing and collections
Generate job cost reports and monitor profitability across projects
File and remit quarterly sales tax reports and payments
Implement and maintain accounting procedures and internal controls
As needed, provide back-up to payroll processor
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience as a full-charge bookkeeper or an equivalent accounting role
Excellent understanding of general accounting principles required; construction-related accounting experience preferred
Advanced user of QuickBooks and common office software such as Microsoft Office
Experience preparing complete financial reports, including P&L and balance sheet
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
Clear communication skills for working with vendors, clients, and team members
Pay Rate:
$25 - $40/hour depending upon relevant skills and experience
