Seeking Controller for large private retail manufacturing business based out of San Luis Obispo. Company is in need of assistance with financial reporting and oversight responsibilities, maintaining office systems, analyzing monthly reports, and communicating results to upper management. Strong communication skills, knowledge of GAAP based accounting, and experience with day-to-day accounting functions required. Degree in accounting or finance is preferred. Daily presence in office required. Compensation range from $110K - 125K depending on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Manage the general ledger reconciliation process and ensure accuracy of financial records
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Provide guidance and support to department managers on financial matters
- Monitor cash flow and manage banking relationships
- Manage payroll processing and ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of financial concepts and principles
- Proficiency in corporate accounting practices, including general ledger reconciliation and financial report writing
- Experience with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Familiarity with governmental accounting standards and reporting requirements
- Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide recommendations for improvement
- Proficient in using accounting software such as Sage or similar systems
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
