Robert Half is offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a dedicated Bookkeeper. This role is crucial in providing essential accounting support to the Financial Services Department for a company in Paso Robles. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for preparing monthly financial statements and reports, reviewing contracts, monitoring accounts receivable, and providing support to supervisors.

Responsibilities:

Preparation of monthly financial statements and reports, including general ledger, receivable/payable, cash, sales, and payroll accounts.

Reviewing contracts and processing monthly billing.

Monitoring accounts receivable and ensuring their timely collection.

Preparing and processing monthly Social Security reports and sales tax returns.

Providing support to Supervisors and processing client timecards and billing.

Reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures.

Conducting data entries, maintaining records, and assisting with audits.

Utilizing QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel for various bookkeeping tasks.

Assisting with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributing checks.

Adhering to established policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company and regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 1 year of experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role

Proficiency in account reconciliation, accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)

Experience with bank reconciliations

Demonstrable knowledge of bookkeeping practices and principles

Proficient in data entry

Strong skills in Microsoft Excel

Experience with month end close

Knowledge of payroll procedures

Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting software

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
