Janitorial/General Labor/Rest Area
Full Time Position $22.00hr to start– 5 days a week Mon-Fri 8:00-4:30.
The Siskiyou Opportunity Center is looking for an individual to work at our Collier Rest area work site. This is a full-time position 5 days a week, Monday -Friday. The right individual will be expected to supervise 3 disabled “clients,” to ensure the restrooms are cleaned to Caltrans standards, and to perform general maintenance at the Collier Rest area. The Siskiyou Opportunity Center is private nonprofit for the developmentally disabled. Our main mission is to provide job training and services for our disabled workforce. We accomplish it through our work at the Rest Areas, janitorial contracts, recycling, and our day programs.
The right individual must be able to lift 35lbs from time to time. You must work well with others, including our disabled. Applicants will be required to have a drug test and a background check. Upon hiring, applicants will be required to provide a DMV printout with no serious infractions. Only completed SOC applications will be accepted. Position will remain open until the right candidate is hired. Our insurance company requires you to be at least 21 years or older to drive a company vehicle, as you may be asked to drive some of our disabled clients to and from the work site. The salary range for our staff is $17.00 - $24.00hr. This position will start at $22.00hr. If you work hard and prove yourself then your salary will increase.
