Part Time Route Sales Professional (2-3 Days per Week)

Summary

The responsibilities of a route sales professional include selling and delivering products to clients using the company vehicle, loading from the warehouse, and unloading at the account as needed. Responsible for sales activities in assigned accounts and regions. Manage quality and consistency of product and service delivery.

Primary Responsibilities

Merchandising, stocking, and proper ongoing rotation of products on store shelves and displays, ensuring the best quality and freshness of products.

Drive sales through the acquisition of new display space, incremental displays and through using sales data to establish other store-level plans.

Follow up on new account opportunities and build effective customer relationships while ensuring promotions are executed.

Introduce new products and services to maximize sales and shelf space within existing accounts and when soliciting new customers.

Conduct daily route settlement procedures to account for all products, invoices, and cash while maintaining proper inventory counts.

Drive company route truck safely.

Complete DOT (US Department of Transportation) daily log and submit other documentation, paperwork, and deposits on time.

Identify and follow up on new leads and referrals and document the contacts.

Develop and maintain sales material and current product knowledge.

Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships.

Prepare paperwork to activate and maintain contact services.

Manage account services through quality check and other follow-up.

Identify and resolve client concerns.

Prepare a variety of status reports, including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals.

Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through the field activity to appropriate company staff.

Other duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities

Provide on-the-job training to new route sales employees.

Follow-up for collection of payment

Vehicles

Keep clean inside and out.

Responsible for checking water and oil and completing timely oil changes

Write up any problems.

Turn in gas tags with date, mileage, and vehicle number.

Procedures

Ensure orders are tracked and appropriate paperwork is filed.

All areas inside the warehouse are to be kept clean and tidy and remain in accordance with the standards set by the QA team and state requirements.

Hair nets are to be always worn in the warehouse or manufacturing areas.

Position Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age or older.

Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.

Must have a valid CA driver's license with a safe driving record (DMV Printout Required to be submitted with application).

Must be able to climb, push/pull, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods as well as perform frequent reaching and use of fingers.

1-3 years of related experience in DSD (Direct Sales Distribution) is preferred.

Skirts and Dresses: Split at or below the knee. Inappropriate: Mini-skirts, sun dresses and spaghetti-strap dresses

Shirts, Tops, Jackets: Company provided shirts, casual shirts, dress shirts, sweaters, golf-type shirts. Inappropriate: tank tops, midriffs, halter tops, sweatshirts and t-shirts unless worn under a blouse or jacket, shirts with writing and/or images

Shoes and Footwear: Conservative athletic or walking shoes, loafers, sneakers, boots, flats, dress heels. Inappropriate: flip flops, slippers, flashy athletic shoes, and open toe shoes. Close toe shoes and closed heels are required in the warehouse and manufacturing.
