Bike Builder-General Responsibilities

Assemble and tune new bikes to a high standard of quality and with high productivity, following these steps:

Pull unpacked bikes from a staging rack in a sequence dictated by standard priorities or by short term model specific needs

Carry the bike to a bike repair stand and workbench

Mount the bike in the stand.

Run cables, mount various components, true wheels, adjust brakes and drivetrain, check fasteners and make the bike ready to ride.

Document the work and transport the bike to a holding area.

Builders assemble one-speed children's bikes, road bikes of all grades, full suspension mountain bikes, custom builds, cargo bikes and more- all types of bicycles. The Builder's workbench is fully equipped with company provided tools.

We pay Builders based on the number of bicycles built. If you can build quickly and accurately, you can make $22-$28 per hour or more.

Experience as a bicycle assembler or bicycle mechanic is preferred, but we will train.

Requirements:

Excellent reliability. Proven experience showing up for workday after day, on time.

Good communication skills. Demonstrate that you are able to follow instructions in English, verbally and in writing. Demonstrate that you are able to provide work progress status information when asked. Ability to work closely with other Builders from a variety of backgrounds.

Ability to concentrate on work all day. This job requires eight solid hours of attention to productivity and quality.

You must have the ability to stand and work at an assembly stand for up to 8 hours a day. You must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds head high.

Enthusiasm for bicycles and riding is preferred.
