We are currently seeking a Solar Interconnection and Permitting Coordinator to join our team. As the Solar Interconnection and Permitting Coordinator, you will be responsible for all utility Interconnection applications and permitting processes for our solar and energy storage projects here in California.

The Solar Interconnection and Permitting Coordinator is a pivotal role in our solar team and will regularly interface with all team members throughout the project lifecycle. The primary focus will be project utility interconnection and permitting, with an assortment of project related file management and inter-office administrative requirements.

Utility Interconnection:

· Prepare, submit and manage interconnection applications with the utility company and following process through to PTO for our residential, commercial, and agricultural solar and battery projects.

· Ensure that all required documents are complete and accurate for interconnection submission to utility, including but not limited to:

- Electrical Single Line Diagram

- Site Plans

- Utility Interconnection Forms (IA’s, 3rd Party Auth’s., Disco Variances, etc.)

- Documentation as needed for Load Aggregation

- EPC Agreements and contracts

- Utility Consumer Guides

- Permitting/AHJ Records

· Responsible for day-to-day follow-up of utility interconnection applications to ensure timely follow-up with utility correction requests and requests for additional information. Maintain and update internal project management software accordingly.

. Build relationships and communication with the different utility PA’s and/or other regulating organizations.

· Manage timelines with customers, utility, and internal team. Correspond with and provide input to clients with regards to interconnection processes.

. Stay up to date with any new requirements as they relate to the interconnection process and update the utility interconnection database requirements as needed.

Permitting:

· Prepare, submit and manage permit packages in accordance with AHJ and HOA requirements for residential, commercial, and agricultural solar and battery projects.

· Ensure all required documents are complete and accurate for permit submission. Including but not limited to:

- Plan Sets

- Data Sheets

- AHJ Planning, Well & Septic and/or Fire division forms

- Structural calcs/stamps

- Historical site documentation

- Client ownership entity docs

· Work with AHJ’s and internal team to resolve AHJ or HOA comments and/or correction requests.

. Proactively identify requirements and potential roadblocks and help to facilitate resolutions so projects remain on schedule. Manage timelines with customers, jurisdiction, and internal team.

. Maintain and update internal project management software to reflect project status and updates.

· Build relationships and communication with the different AHJ and HOA plan checkers, permit techs and other divisional representatives.

What you’ll bring:

· 2-4 years equivalent experience with the utility interconnection process. Permitting experience is a plus.

· Thorough understanding of solar design plan sets: roof layouts, equipment specifications, single line diagrams, etc.

· Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work both with a team and independently.

· Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

· Excellent written and communication skills.

· Ability to handle multiple projects in an organized and accurate manner.

Physical Demands:

· Sit or stand at a desk for 6-8 hours per day performing tasks on a computer.

· Mostly digital processes. Requires minimal physical effort with periods of walking and standing with light lifting of files.

· Minimal bending, stooping, or reaching.
