We are looking to hire a plumbing installer with 4+ years' experience in residential plumbing. Job sites will vary across the North Bay including Sonoma County, Marin County, and San Francisco. Plumbing installers report directly to the plumbing supervisor. The position requires someone who is able to self-manage and problem solve as issues arise. The plumbing supervisor will do initial job layout and design, but the plumbing installer will be responsible to maintain the job schedule and do on the fly alterations to initial layout. Large issues are to be reported directly to the plumbing supervisor for review.
Position Summary
Plumbing installers perform tasks involving physical labor at residential and commercial sites. May operate a variety of hand-power tools. May clean and prepare sites, lift heavy items, install plumbing in attics or crawl spaces, connect gas lines, run new exhaust flues. May assist other departments including HVAC, Radiant, Sheetmetal or Service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Mandatory: Must have clean driving record and be insurable on company policy.
Installing gas and electric plumbing equipment including water heater, boilers, heat pumps, expansion tanks, mixing valves.
Site layout from plans, blueprints or verbal direction from plumbing supervisor
Perform rough in plumbing for residential and commercial sites with knowledge of local plumbing and building codes.
Communicate effectively and respectfully with customers, clients and contractors to complete projects.
Performing a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in tight spaces of attics or crawl spaces
Customer service and interaction on sites with high level of professionalism
Maintaining a clean job site: picking up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards
Handling and storing materials
Loading and unloading trucks and hauling and hoisting materials
Ensuring that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed, bringing problems to the attention of the Foreman, Safety Director, or HR Manager
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment
4 years of plumbing experience meeting duties listed above
Willingness and ability to perform manual work following verbal and written instructions
Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used in construction work
General knowledge of high voltage and low voltage wiring and be able to read a wiring diagram
General knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions
Ability to work with software programs to track and log daily progress
Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
Ability to lift heavy objects, walk, and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions
Ability to communicate orally and in writing
Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely
Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions
Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
