Planting and Maintenance Crew Leader
Magic Gardens Landscaping (www.magicgardenslandscaping.com) is seeking someone with
extensive landscaping and maintenance experience to work with the planting and maintenance
crew in the field as the planting and maintenance crew leader. We are looking for a personable,
enthusiastic, team-oriented person with strong organizational skills who can work in the field/on
job sites and interact well with clients. Candidates should have a strong interest in and
knowledge of plants, and a passion for creating beautiful landscapes.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing planting jobs, planting crew staff, and job sites
- Working with crews in the field doing planting and maintenance
- Technical and fine pruning
- Working closely with lead horticulturist at growing grounds and on job sites
- Assisting designers with plant layout and placement
- Communicating with management, crews, and clients
- Proper completion of daily job reports and timesheets, as well as recording of plants as needed
- Willingness to assist with any landscaping tasks needed to complete jobs is necessary
Qualifications:
- Extensive plant knowledge
- At least 5 years planting and landscape maintenance experience, and/or nursery experience
- Propagation experience a plus
- Irrigation experience is a plus
- Experience with supervision and management
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Professional work habits
- Excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail
- Good communication; strong verbal and writing skills
- Valid driver’s license, clean DMV record, ability to drive company vehicles
- Ability to speak Spanish a plus
An interest in the business and a strong motivation to learn is essential.
Benefits:
Starting hourly range: $30-$37/hour, depending on experience. Potential to advance quickly in
responsibility and compensation. Paid holidays, paid time off, and health coverage after 90 days
of full-time employment. This is an immediate full-time position opening.
