We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Outdoor Construction Project Manager to join our growing team. As the Outdoor Construction Project Manager, you will oversee all aspects of residential outdoor construction projects from planning through completion. You’ll be responsible for coordinating crews and subcontractors, managing timelines and budgets, ensuring materials are available on site, and maintaining clear communication with clients and internal teams. This role requires a strong understanding of outdoor construction methods, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to lead teams effectively while upholding the high standards of craftsmanship and client service that define Mindful Construction.
Responsiblities
Managing Multiple Projects: Oversee and manage multiple construction projects simultaneously, ensuring that each is completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
Validating Material Orders: Ensure that all material orders are accurate and necessary for project completion, verifying delivery and accuracy of materials as received (quantities, placement on property, correct material ordered, etc.)
Client and Crew/Subcontractor Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients and crews regarding scheduling, updates, and any changes to project timelines.
Client Updates: Keep clients informed of any changes or developments related to their projects either via phone, text, or database software.
Issue Resolution: Address and resolve any issues that arise during the course of the project, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines.
Utilization of Our Systems: You will be required to use the systems that our company has in place, currently Leap, Slack, Google Docs, and regularly update the database with photos, documents, or status updates as they occur.
Negotiations: Negotiate with the crew leader(s) on all new jobs and/or when a change is required during an existing job.
Job Costing/Profitability: Responsible for establishing Crew Sub-Sheets with the correct items, quantities, and pricing for each new job. In many cases, PM needs to negotiate the price for particular items and elements based on special considerations, always documenting the results. The PM also is responsible for working with management to track all costs and collections for the job, including overall job gross margins and profitability.
Regular Communication with Management: Maintain regular communication with the management team to ensure that all projects are progressing as planned.
Regular Site Visits: On-site visits on a regular basis to ensure that construction is going as planned etc.
Job Cleanliness: Ensure job site cleanliness after each workday - enforcing standards of keeping client’s property as clean as possible, given current state of work.
Research and Knowledge: staying up to date on information about materials, construction process, building codes and safety regulations per the CSLB.
Post Project Evaluation: Ensure that all aspects of the project were completed per the design and/or contract specifications. Walk through with crews to ensure accuracy, finding and addressing any issues or concerns prior to the client.
Job-Site Safety: Regularly monitoring and ensuring that all crews and people on site are adhering to the safety standards.
Coordination with Design Team: regular contact with our lead designer when developing the initial design for client to ensure design feasibility.
