What we do: Wellander Steel Built performs a wide variety of fabrication projects, including structural and ornamental in both the private and public sectors. We mainly work with mild steel but will perform aluminum and stainless-steel projects from time to time.

We are searching for the right individual, a fabricator with at least TWO years’ experience who is interested in expanding their skills and contributing to a growing company. This position has potential for growth if you are driven, detail-oriented, and take pride in your work.

Please Note: We are a fabrication shop that requires everyone to be able to complete projects start to finish. We do not have positions that only perform welding or fitting.
Position requirements (non-negotiables):
Valid Driver’s License
Clean DMV Record
Drug Free
A high school diploma or equivalent
Reliable transportation
Safety mindset
Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
Standing for the entire shift other than at breaks or lunch
Must be able to measure, layout and cut accurately within 1/32”
Must be able to perform simple math
MINIMUM 2 years welding experience in industry
Highly Desirables:
Welding certifications – FCAW, SMAW
Building/ construction experience, not just in the steel industry
Please Note: Candidates will be required to perform a written/welding test to demonstrate skill set and knowledge. Candidates will be subject to a background check, DMV check and drug screening to be considered for this position.
Job Type: Full-time
Compensation: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour, based upon skill set
Schedule: Start time 6:00 AM Monday - Friday
Summer and Fall: 50 hr +/- work weeks
Winter & Spring: 40 hr +/- work weeks
Installation days are typically 10 hr +/- days
Saturdays are open for continued education/training and practice
