Roofing and Maintenance:
Repair and maintain roofs using a variety of materials suited to each situation and make repairs to damaged and leaking roofs.
Makes repairs to flashings, gutters, pitch pockets, site screens, and HVAC-related equipment ·
Inspect and maintain roofs during the dry season using new and innovative methods to prolong the life of the existing roofs.
Uses knowledge of roofing to recommend changes and repairs.
Work with contractors to maintain and troubleshoot roofing systems ·
Work from blueprints, sketches, or verbal instructions to construct and repair structural woodwork ·
Lay out work as required ·
Build, repair, and install counters, benches, partitions, floors, doors, stairs, ladders, building framework, etc.
Shape materials to prescribed measurements · Install paneling to walls and ceilings ·
Fit and install windows, doors, door frames, etc.
Construct concrete forms and pouring chutes, may do some concrete finishing
Select and install various sound insulation materials. Plumbing
Assist plumbers and welders in any jobs that require a fire watch
Repair faucets, toilets, basins, bathtubs, hot water heaters, toilets, sinks, and garbage disposals Assemble small water pipe fittings, repair or replace pipes
Assemble, install, and repair pipes, fittings, and fixtures for gas, water, and sanitary lines, storm drains, toilets, sinks, valves, pumps, drinking fountains, eyewash stations
Bend pipe to required angle ·
Join pipe by use of flanges, fittings, solder, caulking, welding, epoxy cement, and diversified materials.
Detect malfunctions in plumbing systems, shut systems down, and make repairs
Work on glass, plastic, copper, brass, steel, and cast-iron pipe Seal cast-iron pipe joints with caulking and lead Install and repair gas lines
Employ lock and tag on piping systems for customers
Qualifications:
To be successful in this position you
Journey-level experience in Roofing, Plumbing, Carpentry, and/or maintenance trades, or four years of actual work experience.
This may include time spent as an apprentice or in vocational training.
Must be skilled in the use of the tools, materials, and equipment required to perform assigned duties.
Demonstrated ability to perform moderate to complex carpentry duties.
Must be skilled in the use of the tools, materials, and equipment required to perform assigned duties.
Demonstrated ability to estimate materials and time required for completion of a job, and to maintain adequate records and supplies of materials. ?
Demonstrated ability to perform minor plumbing-related welding and brazing
Must have demonstrated ability to schedule and prioritize own work.
Must be able to adhere to site environmental and safety rules, regulations, and requirements. Computer skills.
Must possess and maintain a valid California non-commercial driver's license.
