Job Summary:
The Lead Mechanic position is a full-time role that directly supports the Fleet Supervisor in the execution of industrial equipment maintenance and shop leadership responsibilities.
Job Description:
The primary responsibilities of the Lead Mechanic position include, supporting the Fleet Supervisor and offering oversight and leadership to the mechanic team in all efforts of troubleshooting, fixing, and maintaining the proper working condition of all company vehicles and mechanical equipment. Examples of daily tasks are as follows:
Conduct troubleshooting techniques on industrial equipment
Perform tasks related to vehicle inspection: Dry Preventive Maintenance and Wet Preventive Maintenance on both diesel and gasoline vehicles
Diagnose and fix issues related to engine, braking systems, hydraulics, and electrical utilizing both scanner diagnostic tools and other mechanical techniques
Assist Fleet Supervisor with DOT Compliance on all fleet vehicles: BIT and DVIR inspections
Provide daily oversight to fleet the mechanic team ensuring the smooth flow and completion prioritized tasks and jobs
Test drive fleet vehicles to ensure safe and successful repairs
Assist in the accurate accounting and ordering of shop inventory and parts
Assist Fleet Supervisor as needed with maintaining company fleet records and information
Job Requirements:
CA Commercial Drives License A
Minimum of 4 years diesel/gas mechanical experience
Must supply your own personal basic tools; large industrial tools are provided
Proficient in the use of scanner diagnostic tools
Collaborative attitude and a team player
Ability to be led and to positively lead others
Self-starter and a willingness to learn
General knowledge of DOT compliance
Portable sanitation experience is a plus, but not required.
Training is provided on products, and services.
May be required to work overtime
Work hours - 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday

Competitive Pay: Compensation: $28-$32 Based on experience.
