McNear Brick & Block is a well-established manufacturer of clay brick, interlocking pavers, and other masonry products. We've been around for 150 years, and we pride ourselves on making products of lasting beauty. We blend old-world craftsmanship with the latest technologies, and commonly build our own devices to achieve our unique product characteristics.
We currently have a full time opening for a Maintenance Mechanic. Duties include trouble-shooting our production equipment, setting up and modifying production equipment, and performing maintenance and repairs. The candidate should ideally have good general familiarity with machinery, including electric control systems, and hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrically powered equipment, but we may still consider hiring individuals missing some of this. We have more and more PLCs and VFDs, so familiarity with these is desired, as are welding skills. Specific knowledge of brick and masonry manufacturing is not required; you can learn this on the job. But you must have a good mechanical aptitude, and like to see things run right.
This is a fast-paced work environment, with something new always coming along: you won't get bored! This is a Union job, with good Union benefits.
