Diesel Mechanic

Location: Oakland, CA

Pay Range: $35-40/hr

We're currently seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join the team and contribute to the maintenance and upkeep of the fleet of heavy equipment and diesel machinery!

As a Diesel Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of the diesel equipment. You'll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of equipment including loaders, excavators, skid-steers, forklifts, and more. Your expertise will be instrumental in minimizing downtime, optimizing performance, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication to keep equipment in optimal condition.

Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.

Conduct thorough inspections to identify worn or damaged parts and components, and perform necessary repairs or replacements.

Troubleshoot and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, steering systems, and other diesel equipment components.

Complete preventive maintenance schedules to prevent breakdowns and ensure equipment longevity.

Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts inventory.

Collaborate with other team members to prioritize and execute maintenance tasks efficiently.

Key Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic, preferably in a heavy equipment or industrial setting.

Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.

Strong knowledge of mechanical principles, tools, and equipment.

Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.

Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.

Effective communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Certification from a technical school or relevant vocational training is preferred.

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
