Overview

Marin Community Clinics, founded in 1972, is today, a multi-clinic network with a wide array of integrated primary care, dental, behavioral, specialty and referral services. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we provide vital health services to almost 40,000 individuals annually in Marin County. The Clinics regularly receive national awards from the Health Resources and Services Administrations (HRSA). Our Mission is to promote health and wellness through excellent, compassionate care for all.

The Facilities Representative will provide support and routine maintenance for all facilities owned and operated by Marin Community Clinics. This is a handy-person job performing a variety of semi-skilled and non-skilled duties including but not limited to interior and exterior building maintenance and repair, moving furniture and equipment, light carpentry and purchasing of supplies. This person works closely with outside contractors, building inspectors, and vendors to ensure the facilities are continuously well- maintained and remain in compliance with health and safety standards. This is a hands-on position which assures the optimal functioning of building systems for each location.

Responsibilities

Responsible for keeping all MCC facilities in good repair. Will examine the equipment for defects in operation, replace defective parts, and make necessary adjustments to ensure safe and efficient operation. This includes performing quality checks on HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.

Responsible for basic light, electrical and plumbing repairs.

Responsible for minor painting, caulking, wall-covering, tile repair and light carpentry.

Perform regularly scheduled Preventative Maintenance tasks including but not limited to routine inspection of facilities and equipment for maintenance, repair, replacement, etc.

Assist with checking and responding to security and safety issues.

Assist IT with installations and troubleshooting as needed.

Assists with installation of office accessories: desks and cabinets, installations of hanging file holders, bulletin boards, white boards, etc.

Responsible for insuring that all maintenance issues are addressed in the most cost-effectively.

Responsible for obtaining information to determine project costs to obtain approval or the requisition of materials.

Performs special projects as mandated by business needs and supervisor, e.g. interact with subcontractors.

Responsible for performing all work in accordance with established OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and organizational safety procedures.

Assists leadership in planning work, identifying organizational needs, and cooperation on projects and project teams.

Communicate with supervisor and CAO on repair and maintenance issues.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required.

2-year maintenance experience and/or demonstrated knowledge of the trades including basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.

Prior health-care or clinic experience preferred.

Good working knowledge of painting or redecorating walls, woodwork and fixtures, plumbing, carpentry, electrical and mechanical equipment.

Knowledge of safety protocols when handling power tools.

Knowledge of Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI) codes and regulations for OSHPD 3 Clinics preferred.

Required Skills and Abilities:

Basic understanding of or ability to quickly learn the equipment and facilities to be maintained.

Ability to maintain basic records and warranties.

Ability to understand written directions in manuals and on manufacturer websites.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as required to complete and maintain records

Excellent problem solving, interpersonal and communications skills.

Ability to prioritize and trouble shoot.

Ability to prioritize tasks, sense of urgency, and being a team player.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Valid CA driver’s license, clean DMV record, and able to pass pre-employment physical.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Use of mouse and keyboard and hand tools.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.

Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the facilities and grounds.

Frequent travel among all MCC locations in Marin County.

Ability to maintain basic records, warranties and understand written direction in manuals and websites.

Prolonged standing, walking, and routine climbing of ladders, stairs, etc. as needed to inspect and maintain buildings and grounds as needed.

Covid-19 Doses and Booster Requirements:

All employees are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, including "health-care" required boosters as a condition of employment, subject to limited exemptions. New employees are required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and boosted before the first day of employment. If you completed your primary series, received an original booster and it has been more than 2 months from that booster dose - it is recommended, but not required that you receive the Bivalent booster.
