ENGINEERING ASSISTANT I/II
Annual Salary: $96,100.37 - $116,307.98

Central San, a progressive public utility, is seeking an Engineering Assistant I/II. This is a frontline permit counter position. The incumbent will meet with design professionals, contractors, and the general public regarding sewer information, site development procedures, plan submittal procedures and requirements, permit fees, and processing procedures. Duties require extensive public contact, issuing of sewer repair and construction permits, and updating information in the computerized permit system. The ideal candidate should enjoy providing excellent customer service while working at a permit counter in fast-paced environment.
Eligible to apply for advancement to the level II position ($108,188.70 - $131,113.63 annually) after 18 months.
Experience:
I: One (1) year of full-time experience in engineering support, drafting, inspection, planning, or GIS work.
II: Two (2) years of full-time experience in engineering support, drafting, inspection, planning, or GIS work including eighteen months of experience equivalent to that of an Engineering Assistant I at the District.
Education:
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade. College level coursework in engineering, geography, mathematics, or a related field is highly desirable.
Licenses and Certificates:
Possession of a valid California Driver's License.
