Construction Estimator- Project Engineer

CPGC Offices in Carmel by the Sea are seeking a Construction Estimator.

Mandatory 2-5 years experience either in the field in the trades or in constructgion project management.

Must be familiar and have basic working knowledge of Bluebeam and Excel.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting the project manager and project team with estimating,project documentation and control, job cost accounting, scheduling, and construction supervision efforts.

The Project Estimatorwill also provide administrative support to office management. Essential Functions-Coordinator

Strong support of Contract Management, accounts payable, receivable, job cost coding, billing, and invoice processing for multiple projects.

Assistance with drafting and administration of monthly project reporting to internal and external clients

Preparation of project status reports, compiling, maintaining, and evaluating project logs and supporting information for inclusion

into monthly reports

Attend team meetings as well as owner and design meetings

Meeting notes/minutes production. Agenda maintenance.

Primary responsibility for maintaining share drive data storage systems for projects

Schedule meetings in Outlook and provide meeting and event support, including catering and other special arrangements

Compile presentations and reports including printing, binding, dissemination

Tracking of insurance certificates, and Lien Release logs

Handle projects that may be confidential and time sensitive

Office management, coordinate travel for the project team, and prepare expense reports

Work at jobsite location as needed

Payroll administration, Certified Payroll clerking, assistance to Accounting Manger

Responsibilities-Project Assistant

· Able to perform all essential Entry Level/Intern Project Engineer responsibilities

· Attend and document project meetings (write minutes)

· Set up and maintain electronic filing system

· Update and maintain all sets of drawings, specifications, and logs

· Assist with preparation of CPM schedules

· Assist with updating and maintaining master CPM schedule

· Evaluate and understand basic construction means and methods

· Maintain a site-specific safety plan and pre-task planning process, including audits, meeting, training, etc.

· Distribute all documents to subcontractors and maintain document logs

· Review, analyze, and transmit submittals

· Prepare and maintain submittal logs and procurement log

· Perform expediting functions

· Cost code and/or verify correct codes on time sheets

· Code Accounts Payable Workflows as assigned

· Verify original estimate quantities for labor cost reports

· Report quantities in place and maintain labor cost report

· Prepare and document extra work orders

· Review and assemble change order submittals and quantity surveys

· Maintain a Quality Management system

· Maintain progress photo album

· Compile contracts close out documents (O&M manuals, as-builts, etc.)

· Maintain record set drawings, ASI and As Built Revisions

· Document punch list work

· Complete other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

· 1-3 years of construction-related experience, or equivalent

· Construction related internship experience preferred

· 1-3 years’ experience using Excel, Outlook, and Word

· Basic understanding of construction cost accounting

· Basic estimating and scheduling skills

· Basic computer skills

· Ability to read and understand plans and specifications

· Effective organizational skills

· Effective written and verbal English language communication skills

· Ability to use independent judgment, self-starting

Extra Valued Skills

· Drafting and advanced computer skills a plus

· MS Project, P6, Smartsheet, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, SketchUp skills a plus
