Here is the TLDR:

Position: Full-time Personal Assistant / Domestic Aid for a Friendly Married Couple in Their 30s with No Kids

(Mon - Fri [travel/weekends on an occasional basis])

Example Duties:

- Reading our emails

- Scheduling tasks/projects

- Making phone calls

- Conducting internet research for various projects

- Performing admin tasks for our nonprofit

- Running errands, shopping, and handling returns

- Providing pet care (small dog)

- Organizing and regular house cleaning

- Performing small home maintenance tasks (YouTube and ChatGPT can help you with whatever you aren’t sure how to do)

- Cooking one meal a day and preparing vitamins/smoothies

- Doing laundry

- Generally being another set of hands for us

Compensation:

- $22-$26/hr starting pay with scheduled pay raises (depending on experience and the demonstrable skills brought to the table on day one)

Here is the Detailed Job Description (Who we are / What we need):

We are a happy, "power of positive thinking" type of couple in our thirties, with a sweet 10-year-old Chihuahua, and no children. We've been experiencing a rate of growth at work that is stretching our capabilities in new and exciting ways, and we've determined that it is time to bring on a dedicated team member to support our personal and professional development by taking some of the day-to-day load off our plates.

So, we are seeking an empathetic, detail-oriented Personal Assistant/Housekeeper Extraordinaire! This is a multifaceted position that requires a well-adjusted, well-rounded person of intelligence who can think on their feet and is adept at using the internet and various platforms/tools to learn new skills, solve problems, and stay organized. Also, super chill vibes are a must. An easy-going person who is responsive to requests, leaves the drama and ego at home, is flexible, adaptable, and brings the positive energy of a person that is happy to have a job working for a supportive employer who cares about their well-being is the ideal—and frankly, the only type of person we will fill this position with. You will be working closely with us in our home day after day, and that will require a level of awareness as to the energies we allow into our shared space. We recognize that this is a two-way street. Our home is our sanctuary, and a happy and comfortable home for us means there needs to be a chill and supportive work environment for you. We want you to like your job and like the people you work for.

We expect more of your time to be dedicated to various assistant functions such as assisting with administrative tasks, project research/planning, managing schedules, handling phone calls, taking meeting notes, serving as a sounding board for brainstorming sessions, and providing general support as needed, etc. However, housekeeping responsibilities will be a regular and consistent part of the job. We are looking to find someone who doesn't mind the cleaning and cooking tasks or, better yet, someone who even finds enjoyment in them—getting into a more zen/clear headspace around these tasks (maybe while listening to music or a podcast, or even as a meditative exercise) rather than feeling put out by them and making it obvious over time that this thing or that thing is your least favorite part of the job. This would, in turn, make us feel bad about asking you to do those things, which obviously wouldn’t be sustainable for a position specifically created to help in the ways we have outlined. Having said that, we aren’t super messy people or anything, so it should be pretty straightforward to maintain a tidy and clean home/work environment for us and yourself. A pristine and comfortable environment allows for easier access to flow states and more productive work. :)

The ideal candidate is a conscientious, intelligent self-starter with excellent time management and organizational skills. We need a quick thinker who can proactively anticipate needs. Preference will be shown to those individuals who can demonstrate a STRONG ability to research unfamiliar topics and use various online resources to build new skills that will aid our nonprofit's administration and growth.

Example Responsibilities:

- Assist in administrative and compliance tasks for the nonprofit.

- Research new topics and develop strategies to apply the information.

- Manage schedules, appointments, and admin phone calls.

- Prepare our Blue Apron meal subscription recipes and other basic cooking.

- Prepare and supply our vitamin supplement regimen/smoothie, etc.

- Run errands such as shopping and handling returns.

- Perform regular cleaning and general maintenance tasks around the home.

- Make phone calls and set appointments for personal and household needs.

- Manage laundry, including washing, drying, folding, and organizing.

- Organize and manage household supplies and inventory.

- Provide reminders and support for personal tasks and commitments.

- “Body Doubling” - A technique where an individual works alongside another person to increase focus, motivation, and accountability in completing tasks.

- Travel as needed (Paid travel, of course).

Qualifications:

- AMAZING vibes, positive, upbeat, can-do attitude is a must :)

- High level of empathy, patience, and understanding.

- Ability to work independently and take initiative.

- Strong organizational and time management skills.

- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.

- Experience with household cleaning and maintenance tasks.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a Personal Assistant/Housekeeper or similar role.

- Knowledge of strategies and tools for improving our household and professional organization.

Compensation / Benefits:

$22 - $26/hr starting pay w/ scheduled pay raises (Depending on experience/what skills you can bring to the table as a Personal Assistant on day one).
