unspun, Inc. seeks multiple Senior Embedded Software Engineers in Emeryville, California.
Responsibilities: The Senior Embedded Software Engineer will be responsible for developing production ready software that adds functionality to and increases the reliability of unspun’s apparel manufacturing technology via embedded firmware design skills. Duties include: Rapidly develop and iterate user experiences in a wide variety of development environments using an array of technologies including C and Python; Working on multiple projects and manage time effectively; Supporting rapid prototyping projects that accrue to the next version of unspun’s apparel manufacturing technology; Experience in developing multi-process/threaded software on an embedded RTOS; Investigating to find ways to make the codebase better (removing tech debt, adding debugging, or logging tools, increasing test coverage, improving toolchains and build times); Contributing outside of your field, participating in design reviews, building user interfaces, and mentoring; Translating requirements into executable tasks for yourself and the firmware team; and other duties as assigned. Employee may be stationed anywhere in the continental U.S., but will report to unspun headquarters in Emeryville, California. Salary range: $148k – 170k
Education: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or foreign equivalent).
Requirements: 1 year of experience in the job offered or related position. Other special requirements include: 1 year of experience designing and implementing signal processing and sensing algorithms; 1 year of experience using Python for scripting, automation, and data analysis; 1 year of experience using data driven methods to improve processes in electromechanical systems; 1 year of experience using C for implementing algorithms and filters; and Employee may be stationed anywhere in the continental U.S., but will report to unspun’s headquarters located in Emeryville, California.
