Chapter Coffee, a small-batch, independently owned coffee company based in San Rafael, is seeking a part-time B2B Sales Representative to help develop wholesale and local partnership accounts throughout the Bay Area.
This role is suited for a self-motivated sales professional with strong communication skills, familiarity with specialty food and beverage, and the ability to work independently. The position involves both in-person and remote outreach.
Position Details
Status: Independent Contractor (1099), can transition to W-2 after probationary period
Hours: 8–10 hours per week
Territory: San Rafael and the surrounding Bay Area (within 60 miles)
Compensation:
-$20 per hour base
-10% commission on initial wholesale orders
-5% commission on repeat orders for the first 90 days
-Mileage reimbursement for approved travel
Responsibilities:
-Identify and pursue new wholesale opportunities across coworking spaces, community stores, boutique hotels, wellness studios, and related channels
-Build and manage a pipeline of prospective accounts
-Conduct outreach in-person visits
-Distribute marketing materials and product samples as needed
-Represent Chapter Coffee professionally at meetings
-Maintain detailed activity records and sales reports
Qualifications
-Prior experience in B2B sales, preferably in the food and beverage industry
-Strong verbal and written communication skills
-Professional presence and confidence in client-facing interactions
-Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
-Access to a reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license
Preferred Experience:
-Familiarity with specialty coffee, third-wave café culture, or premium CPG brands
-Existing relationships in hospitality, wellness, or boutique retail environments
