POSITION TITLE: Sales Manager

REPORTS TO: Director of Sales (HUSH),

FLSA DESIGNATION: Exempt

POSITION PURPOSE

To develop new business within a specified territory or market segment. To provide service to guests and fellow team members in a manner which meets or exceeds Handlery Hotels’ standards and to comply with established company and departmental policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

As a leader for Handlery Hotels, this position is to make significant contributions to excellence in guest satisfaction and loyalty, team member satisfaction and commitment, overall operations, and financial performance. This position is to model and consistently reinforce behaviors reflected in Handlery Hotels’ cultural core, as well as serving as an agent of change, being effectively flexible in leadership style, working collaboratively, and complying with managers’ standards.

Achieve monthly revenue goals following booking guidelines. Merchandise guest rooms and function space to maximize revenue potential for the hotel and to ensure that the guest has the highest quality meeting experience. Actively solicit new key accounts to generate direct sales and new clients. Negotiate with clients to bring groups during need periods. Participate in sales trips targeting specific areas and groups within market. Solicit accounts within assigned market segment. Maintain aggressive weekly telephone, site inspection, personal call and outside sales goals. Achieve budgeted room nights, rate and revenues. Develop and implement sales action plans, maintain interdepartmental communications and complete special projects as assigned by the Director of Sales.

Ensure that all required reports are completed on a timely basis. Promote high visibility of hotel through active involvement in industry associations, trade shows and community events. Attend property and departmental meetings.

Other

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Team members with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, team members may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Education

High school diploma or equivalent education is required.

Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred but not required 2 to 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

A minimum of two years' experience in a similar position is required.

Licenses or Certificates

Able to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates, or permits applicable to the position.

Salary $100-110K Plus Bonus
