Wanted: Surveillance Investigators:
A surveillance investigator gathers information and evidence using surveillance techniques, often to support legal proceedings or investigations. They conduct physical surveillance, analyze data, and prepare reports. Key skills include strong observation, attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to work independently, as well as a sense of urgency.
Responsibilities:
Conducting surveillance:
This involves using various methods, including physical surveillance (following subjects, observing locations), electronic surveillance (using cameras, audio recording devices), and utilizing social media investigations.
Gathering evidence:
Investigators collect data, document observations, and compile evidence to support investigations or claims.
Preparing reports:
Investigators write detailed reports summarizing their findings and observations, often for legal or insurance purposes. They also need to provide a detailed update to our office by the morning after surveillance, so that we can update our clients.
Investigators may need to present their findings to clients, legal teams, or other stakeholders.
Adhering to legal and ethical standards:
Investigators must conduct investigations within the boundaries of the law and maintain confidentiality.
Skills and Qualifications:
Strong observational and analytical skills: The ability to pay close attention to detail and draw accurate conclusions from observations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills: To prepare detailed reports and communicate findings effectively.
Proficiency with surveillance equipment: Knowledge of and experience using various surveillance technologies.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team: They must be able to manage their own investigations while also collaborating with others.
Discretion and confidentiality: Maintaining the privacy of individuals being investigated is crucial.
Problem-solving skills: The ability to analyze situations, identify potential issues, and develop solutions.
Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations: Understanding legal requirements related to surveillance and investigations is important.
