McCampbell Analytical, Inc. (MAI) is a full-service environmental analytical laboratory located in Pittsburg, CA (SF Bay Area). MAI specializes in the chemical analysis of soil, air, ground, drinking & wastewater samples with a focus on environmental contaminates such as hydrocarbons, pesticides, heavy metals, etc.

We are seeking a full-time quality assurance/quality control specialist for a day shift Monday through Friday; 9 am-6 pm. The position is available for intermediate-level candidates (min 3+ years) with scientific laboratory and quality assurance experience following and adhering to quality programs using ISO 17025:2017(E), TNI 2016, DoD/DOE, and EPA standards.

This candidate reports directly to the QAQC Director.

Responsibilities And Duties:

This position includes performing data validation and quality control studies for analytical method detection limits, control charts, and data processing. This candidate will be working closely in Microsoft Excel creating, testing, and implementing data processing tools to maintain and improve data flow efficiency. Familiarity or previous experience with analytical instrumentation preferred in ICP/MS, GC/MS, HPLC, or inorganic instrumentation.

Once fully trained in their main tasks, the candidate will be trained in assisting with internal audits, support equipment tasks, and any duties to fulfill regulatory requirements as assigned. The expectation for this candidate is to understand and learn the methods within the laboratory while functioning to assist with maintaining regulatory compliance requirements.

Qualifications:

A four-year college degree in chemistry or other closely related science discipline is required

Clear and concise communication with all staff and managers verbally and written

Great attitude and aptitude for learning environmental regulatory requirements and methods associated with EPA, ASTM, NIOSH, and other analytical standard methodologies

Must be a team player and be able to function within a thriving team environment with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently with assigned tasks.

Attention to detail is crucial in minimizing errors and is essential in the QA Department.

Excellent organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills are required.

Must have strong proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Access to succeed in this role.

Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) is preferred
