Home Hub is one of Sonoma County's newest and most interesting thrift and salvage shops located in West Petaluma @ 884 Bodega Ave. We are a sister company to Peace Out Junk and sell all of the fabulous things salvaged from their hauls. What we need It's a BIG ask but might as well ask!
A person who is totally flexible that we can call when we need help with sorting big hauls (clothing, home goods, tools, housewares, etc.) as well as cover when someone is sick or for vacations as needed. This means the job is varied and you would be working both behind the scenes as well as up front with the public. When in the back you would be sorting through hauls for sellable items, as well as cleaning and wiping them down as needed, and then working with the staff on duty to help price and get the items out on the shop floor. When covering for sick time or vacations you would work up front behind the counter ringing up sales, monitoring our online listings or simply being on the shop floor tidying and assisting with sales as needed. In addition there are standard opening and closing duties that you will be trained on.
Job requirements:
LIfting up to 25 pounds.
Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, and to handle basic computer functions such as checking email and Messenger in regards to our online listings.
Genuine love of working with the public.
A broad understanding of quality when it comes to clothing or merchandise in general.
Willingness to utilize an iPhone to search for the value of items as needed.
Honest and positive demeanor.
We will ask for two references, as well as a background check, so that we can feel comfortable with you being a key holder and ringing up sales.
Rate of pay: $21.
