Berkeley Cycle Works is currently seeking a bicycle technician with a minimum of one year of experience wrenching on bikes in a professional bike shop. This could be a full-time or part-time position with competitive pay based on experience.
We operate with a small staff so you would you play a key role on the store's function. Ideal candidates are self-motivated with an attention to detail, computer literate, passionate about bicycles and ride bikes regularly.
Duties include:
Completing simple to complex repairs on a wide variety of bicycles
Evaluating bikes coming in for repair and providing the customer with a quote
Creating and scheduling work orders utilizing a computerized point-of-sale system
Communicating with customers as needed before, during and after the repair process
Building new bikes
Accessorizing and completing final checks on new bikes
Maintaining a clean and orderly workstation
Some sales when the sales staff could use a little extra help
Shifts may include some weekdays to 6pm and Saturdays. Paid sick leave.
