Part-time resident manager at dorm style home at SJSU

A well established fixture of San Jose State University, with over 50 years of serving the housing needs of the local student community, is seeking a part-time resident manager for a dorm style home located across the street from the SJSU campus. The resident manager is accountable for all day-to-day property operations.

Required Duties:

Must live on site in one of the rooms

Maintain online advertisements, answer inquiries and show available rooms to potential candidates.

Keep accurate resident records.

Issue notices in a timely and accurate manner when necessary (e.g., late payments, eviction notices, etc)

Accurate and detailed completion of resident forms, security deposit refund reports, room availability, etc.

Initiate and implement policies/procedures to maintain resident communications (e.g., complaints, service requests, etc)

Commitment to upkeep of property: Check home functionality and needs for repairs to be brought to the attention of owner, light cleaning, picking up trash, etc between twice weekly cleaning service visits.

Availability to schedule and monitor vendors on service calls at the house.

Availability to take after-hour emergency calls and route maintenance immediately.

Conduct all move-ins and move-outs with detailed documentation of condition room when rented and then vacated.

Basic maintenance: changing light bulbs, smoke detector removal/installation, using a plunger on a clogged toilet, tighten a loose screw on door locks, cabinets

Weekly meetings with owner.

Timely completion of time sheets, credit card reimbursement forms, etc.

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role, or as an RA at SJSU.

High School diploma or equivalency certificate required.

Legally able to work in the USA

Strong computer skills (MS Office, Google Apps, property management-related software, email, internet).

Skills Required:

Microsoft Word/Excel

Google Mail/Google Drive

Management

Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Candidates will be required to complete a credit and background check.
