Part-Time Administrative Assistant

We are a family-owned machine shop looking for an office assistant to join our small team. The position is part time approximately 16-20 hours per week with shifts of 4 hours. Shift timing is flexible but must be between the hours of 8am-4pm Monday through Friday.

Applicants need no background knowledge of machining or our software program (JobBoss) we will train on all necessary tasks. We require applicants with prior office or administrative experience.

General daily tasks include:

Answering phones and filing

Communication with vendors and customers via phone and email

Processing of new orders (order entry, preparing paperwork)

Prepare/package shipments and manage coordinating paperwork (1-5 small boxes daily – must be able to lift up to 20 lbs)

Create purchase orders for vendors

Inventory management (updating/entering inventory as changes are made)

Receiving (verifying receipt of purchase orders)

Misc. data entry

Preferred skills:

Valid drivers license and insured reliable vehicle to make occasional pickups (will reimburse mileage)

Proficient in Excel, Word and able to use basic software programs

Attention to detail is critical in this role – must be able to check your work and catch errors
