Since its founding in 1977, Marin Horizon has been providing a challenging and robust academic program combined with character-enhancing life skills. Marin Horizon is a place of creative, active learning built around our commitment to developing each student’s confident voice. Marin Horizon serves about 300 students from toddler through grade eight and is located in Mill Valley, CA.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Marin Horizon seeks an executive assistant to provide high-level administrative support to the Head of School, management of the school’s parent communication platform, and administrative support for the Board of Trustees. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, have independent school experience, as well as experience writing and editing. The position requires excellent communication and technology skills and a flexible and positive attitude.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Executive Assistant to the Head of School

Manage Head’s calendar

Manage Board of Trustees’ calendar

Oversee major dates and detailed calendar planning

Manage school calendar

Provide technology support for board committee meetings

Manage the board shared drive

Prepare for and take minutes at board meetings

Update school NAIS and CAIS school portals and process membership fees

Complete school data surveys

Manage job postings and candidate resume folders

Share in planning and set up for faculty/staff lunches

Order milestone gifts

Other duties as assigned

Management of ParentSquare Communications

Create and post weekly Wednesday Bulletin

Edit and/or create stand alone posts

Edit and post weekly and monthly class notes

Create and manage a balanced schedule of community posts

Edit and schedule Community Association posts

Manage faculty perks communications

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Bachelor's degree

Relevant executive assistant experience

Communications experience in the areas of writing and editing

Experience working on a team

SALARY AND BENEFITS

Anticipated salary range between $65,000 and $100,000 depending on education and experience
