Bilingual Human Services Aide II (English/Spanish)

Starting salary at $26.02/hour ($54,306/year), plus a competitive total compensation package, and an additional $1.50/hour fluent bilingual premium!

As a Human Services Aide II in the Economic Assistance Division of the Human Services Department, you will be responsible for providing routine non-technical assistance and supportive services to clients and staff, including answering phones and providing excellent customer service. You will act as a liaison between professional staff, disadvantaged individuals, and groups in the community to ensure access to available services offered by the Human Services Department. Additional responsibilities include:

Providing support to case workers through various clerical activities

Greeting clients and assisting them with questions and the completion of forms and applications

Providing outreach to schools, neighborhoods, and the community to ensure those who need services can access them

De-escalating tense situations while working with clients who are hostile or upset

Acting as a liaison with community agencies by keeping rosters and client paperwork updated

Evaluating client service needs, and providing information and guidance regarding various services and resources

Proctoring vocational testing

Making reminder calls to clients regarding upcoming appointments

Scheduling clients for meetings, workshops, and/or trainings

Entering information into databases and spreadsheets and generating receipts and reports

The ideal candidates will possess many of the following:

Experience working with a diverse cultural and socioeconomic population

Exceptional customer service skills including interacting in person, over the phone, and virtually through video conferencing

The ability to diffuse stressful situations and interactions

A high degree of proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and database programs

Strong multi-tasking, problem solving, and organization skills

The ability to interpret and disseminate complex and sensitive documents

Advanced computer skills, including experience with Excel, Outlook, and Word

The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities

Fluent bilingual (English/Spanish) skills
