JCCSF Youth Sports Coach – Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball, Baseball & More

The Jewish Community Center of San Francisco is now hiring for JCCSF Sports Coaches across all sports we offer, including basketball, soccer, volleyball, baseball, and more.

This role requires a background in coaching and/or strong knowledge of sports, paired with genuine enthusiasm for engaging with children ages 3–11.

The JCCSF youth sports program aims to build both sport-specific skills and essential life lessons in a fun, supportive environment.

Successful applicants will embody these values and offer consistent leadership and commitment to our young participants.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop class objectives in alignment with the JCCSF youth sports program philosophies

Organize stimulating practices and games that emphasize fundamental skill development through positive reinforcement

Attend weekday classes consistently

Provide active guidance during classes

Communicate effectively with children, parents, colleagues, and supervisors

Learn and follow JCCSF policies and procedures

Perform additional duties as required

REQUIREMENTS:

Experience working with children ages 3–11

Knowledge of early childhood development is a plus

Familiarity with multiple sports and ability to demonstrate basic skills

Previous youth coaching experience preferred

Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment

Strong communication skills

Availability for all scheduled classes, trainings, and meetings

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is conducted indoors at the JCCSF facility

Ongoing contact with children, parents, and staff members

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to stand for extended periods of time

Ability to move and lift equipment up to 15 lbs

Ability to demonstrate sports skills and lead drills

STATUS: Temporary/seasonal, non-exempt position

HOURS/SCHEDULE:

2–10 hours/week

September – December

Must be available for the entire session

Flexible availability for 1–2 weekday afternoons or evenings (Mon–Thurs)
