The Lamorinda Spirit Van Program (https://www.lovelafayette.org/spiritvan) has been in service since 2006, providing rides to older Lamorinda residents (age 60 and up) for errands, shopping, medical appointments Monday through Friday, as well as to Cafe Costa at the Walnut Creek Senior Center for lunch.
We are currently looking to add a part-time Dispatcher to our team for 1-2 afternoons per week, 4-5 hours each afternoon plus occasional shifts to cover for other dispatchers. The Dispatcher will report directly to the Program Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Dispatcher, you will be responsible for:
- Receiving and processing ride reservations from passengers via phone and email.
- Organizing and scheduling rides to maximize efficiency and meet the needs of our passengers.
- Effectively communicating ride schedules to our dedicated team of volunteer drivers.
- Collecting payment envelopes from the vans and ensuring accurate record-keeping.
- Maintaining the inventory and stocking of our vans
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly reports to track program usage and performance.
Required Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you will need:
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills to engage compassionately with our passengers and team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Impeccable organizational skills to manage reservations, schedules, and documentation efficiently.
- Residency in the Lamorinda area
- Flexibility in your schedule
