The Lead Case Manager supervises and oversees the daily operations of the Case Management department to ensure smooth operations. They cultivate a positive and supportive environment, aiming to enhance the well-being and retention of their team members. This involves conducting regular meetings with staff to assess their progress and address any difficulties, fostering their professional growth within the team. Not only does the Lead Case Manager maintain composure during hectic situations but demonstrates a mature understanding in problem solving. Furthermore, the Lead Case Manager offers continual feedback, keeps the team engaged and enforces River to Coast Children’s Services' overall mission and initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

Management experience

Supervisor efficiency

Bilingual in English and Spanish written and oral.

Computer proficiency

Minimum Qualifications:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate effectively in person and over the phone.

Ability to multi-task and perform in a hi-paced environment.

Preferable previous experience working with culturally diverse families from a broad range of socioeconomic backgrounds.

Ability to work independently and cooperatively with various other personnel.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Ensures timely and responsive communication by promptly addressing emails and requests, communicates clear priorities and deadlines, and provides context when making requests (the why’s); Sets an example of effective communication through personal actions and encourages team members to do the same.

2. Maintain a working knowledge of the California Department of Social Services’ regulations and requirements, as well as monitor any ongoing compliance with funding regulations, policies, and Child Care Bulletins.

3. Conduct annual performance evaluations and ongoing staff development identification and planning.

4. Coordinate Case Management Team Meetings. This may include: creating agendas, taking, distributing and filing notes, distributing assignments and follow-up on action items. Report back to the Executive Director.

5. Carry and manage a small caseload of subsidized families per the Case Manager job description.

6. Responsible for team systems, including:

o Develop and revise Subsidized Child Care Program and Case Management policies, procedures and forms, ensuring compliance with Funding Terms and other regulations as applicable.

o Updating the Parent and Provider Guide, making relevant revisions mandated by State Regulations and internal policies with the Executive Director and Board approval.

o Keep WEL program updated. Ensuring a smooth process for pulling families based on priority from WEL when funding becomes available.

o Ensures job descriptions are accurate and complete; develops and maintains detailed onboarding and training plans for new case managers.

o Complete any and all reporting pertaining to the department

7. Serve as a member of the Supervisor and Department Team to develop policies and procedures, participate in planning, monitoring and continuous improvement of Agency.

8. Represent the Agency as needed at appropriate meetings with other agencies and/or funding representatives.

9. Encourage the practice of health and safety of working conditions for team members.

10.Perform other functions as related to team and agency operations as requested.

Physical Requirements

1. Ability to sit up to six hours per day with intermittent occasional walking or standing.

2. Ability to use computer on a daily basis. Computer use may cause eye and muscle strain, backaches, headaches, and repetitive motion injuries.

3. Ability to occasionally lift items weighing up to 25 pounds to a height of up to three feet.

4. Case Managers work in an office environment. They may experience eye and muscle strain, backaches, headaches, and repetitive motion injuries from using computers on a daily basis, and may have to sit for extended periods.
