A Better Way Inc. is seeking a dedicated Foster Care Program Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in all facets of foster care services, possess a deep understanding of the rules and regulations governing the foster care system, and demonstrate the ability to engage with stakeholders for supporting compliance and administrative functions within the program, client intake, as well as coordinating and bolstering recruitment efforts for resource parents. This position will report to the Permanency Program Director

Duties and Responsibilities:

-Understanding: Demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of foster care services, including placement procedures, case management, and resource parent recruitment.

-Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all rules and regulations governing the foster care system, including those set forth by Community Care Licensing and other relevant authorities.

-Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders such as government agencies, s, resource parents, and community organizations to facilitate oversight and intake processes effectively.

-Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the foster care program, including maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, and handling correspondence.

-Recruitment Coordination: Assist in coordinating and supporting recruitment efforts for resource parents, including outreach initiatives, informational sessions, and training programs.

Qualifications:

-Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field preferred. Bachelor's degree required.

-Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in child welfare or foster care work, preferably in a capacity, or administrator.

-Strong knowledge of regulations and policies governing the foster care system, including Community Care Licensing requirements.

-Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders.

-Exceptional organizational abilities with a keen attention to detail.

-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.

-Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

-Commitment to the mission and values of A Better Way Inc , with a passion for improving the lives of children and families in need.

-Experience in program management and project management, or related experience is highly desirable.

-Knowledge of foster care regulations, licensing requirements, and child welfare systems is advantageous.

-Ability to demonstrate compassion, empathy, and to understand the challenges faced by children in foster care and their families.

-Excellent clinical skills including knowledge of developmental stages of childhood and effects of trauma on development, as well as the dynamics of system involved children and families.

-Strength-based, culturally competent approach to intervention

-Ability to complete adoption home study assessments using Structured Analysis Family Evaluation (SAFE) format (will be trained)

-Ability to work independently and to manage a high volume of work, practicing effective time management and prioritization skills.

-Experience in conducting training and informational sessions preferred.

-Ability to travel using personal vehicle and flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

-Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate individuals from diverse backgrounds, and to establish rapport with multi-and inter-generational families.

-Excellent presentation and public speaking abilities.

-Excellent organizational, computer, and writing skills.

-Ability to pass LiveScan and TB check needed to work with children

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting and in the community.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk and hear. Must be able to reach, bend, lift and move boxes up to fifteen pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week. Supervisor defines schedule to meet the business needs. Evenings and weekends required. Hybrid work, partially in the office and in the community.

Travel

Local travel to various worksites is required.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

Employees must pass a background check and receive TB and health clearances prior to employment. Compliance with vaccination policy.
