Ragazzi Boys Chorus (www.ragazzi.org), San Francisco Bay Area’s premier choral organization for boys, seeks a detail-oriented and personable Chorus Manager.
Under the leadership of Artistic and Executive Director Kent Jue, Ragazzi provides exceptional education and performance opportunities for boys in the art of choral singing. Our growing organization serves over 230 boys and young men, ages 5-18, in 30 Bay Area communities. Ragazzi regularly produces its own concert series and collaborates with such prestigious ensembles as the San Francisco Symphony, San Francisco Opera, Symphony Silicon Valley, and Opera San Jose. Fifteen teaching artists and five administrators support Ragazzi. Our robust program includes a comprehensive theory program, sleep-away camp, and annual tours.
The Chorus Manager (CM) coordinates all internal communications and chorister records and acts as the primary point of contact for choristers, families, volunteers, and other constituents. The CM answers phone calls, responds to emails, and receives in-person visitors. They guide families through the registration website, maintain rosters, and recruit and organize parent volunteers. During rehearsal evenings, they supervise drop-off, direct choristers to their rooms, and supervise pick-up. When special events arise, the CM helps organize and manage the event by preparing call sheets, taking attendance, and ensuring personnel, volunteers, and choristers have the information they need to be successful. Special events include but are not limited to concerts, weekend activities, summer session (camp), singing the national anthem at sporting events, and tours where choristers and chaperones travel domestically and internationally.
An effective CM will
-Be proficient in Google suite, MS Word, and Excel
-Learn to manage registration and other tools
-Work in an organized manner
-Work cooperatively with office peers
-Communicate clearly and effectively
-Show flexibility and resilience
-Maintain confidentiality of personal information regarding choristers and their families
-Be equally comfortable interacting with diverse constituents, including school-aged children to adults
Typical work hours are 11:30am-8:00pm M/Tu/W, 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Th/F with the option to work from home on Fridays, and approximately 1-2 weekend days per month. The CM will primarily be on-site at the Ragazzi offices at 178 Clinton St. in Redwood City, but will need reliable transportation to run errands and to access off-site events. A background check is required. Although out-of-area travel is not required, there may be opportunities to chaperone domestic and international tours.
Compensation: 1.0 FTE, $60,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on experience; 10 days paid time off; 10 Ragazzi holidays; and accrued sick time. An annual $6,000 stipend is offered in lieu of other benefits.
