Overview:
The primary role of a System Builder is to create amazingly ‘cool’ and reliable computing systems that are faster than the competition and provide a wow-factor.
Essential System Builder Duties:
-Assist teammates, partners and clients to achieve great results through these key tasks:
-Communicate effectively, clearly, patiently and fully with those whom you support
-Keep production on-schedule (or a step ahead) by maintaining awareness of delivery goals and solving challenges to effectively meet them
-Test hardware and software components for reliability and performance
-Routinely think ahead and take proper action to assure that stock levels are maintained for future builds
-Set standards, live by them, and enforce them (i.e. – methods, processes, etc)
-Keep the facility tidy, clean and ready to show to visitors at any time

-You ‘tinker’, enjoy building things with your hands, and take pride in the result…without becoming overly distracted with rabbit holes

Desired Experience & Skills
-Experience building, testing, and troubleshooting computer workstations, servers, & storage systems
-Experience in fabricating ‘functional’ items from a variety of materials using a variety of tools
-Experience installing and administering various Computer Operating Systems, particularly Windows and Linux
-The wisdom to know when to overcome challenges yourself vs seeking help for an issue
-Experience in soldering and building cables/connectors and simple electronic circuits
-Useful knowledge of office productivity software, particularly spreadsheets
-Basic understanding of IPv4 Subnets, Routing, and Addressing
-Experience working with audio and video technologies and content
