HECO PACIFIC Manufacturing, Inc. is engineering and manufacturing company located in Union City, CA, we build overhead bridge cranes from ¼ Ton to 300 Ton capacities.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:

We are looking for a skilled Machinist to operate a variety of machines to perform assigned tasks. You will produce or repair precision parts using both manual and automated equipment and accurate measurements. A great machinist needs to possess manual dexterity and an eye for detail. They must also have knowledge of mathematics and mechanics as well as respect for safety precautions. The goal is to ensure effective production operations and optimize procedures.

1. REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

1.1. Operation Manager

2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

2.1. Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints to understand specifications.

2.2. Machine Operation: Set up, operate, and maintain machine tools to manufacture parts accurately.

2.3. Quality Control: Inspect finished products for quality, using measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers to ensure they meet specifications.

2.4. Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve issues during the machining process to maintain efficiency.

2.5. Taking measurements and marking material for cutting or shaping

2.6. Routine Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance.

3. REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

3.1. Proven experience as a machinist or in related roles.

3.2. Proficient in operating manual tools.

3.3. Strong mathematical ability for accurate measuring and calculations.

3.4. Good understanding of metal properties and machining processes.

3.5. Attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.

3.6. Proven experience as machinist

3.7. Experience in using and/or programming manual tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc.)

3.8. Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements

3.9. Knowledge of the properties of metal and other material

3.10. Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals

3.11. Good at math with analytical abilities

3.12. Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items

4. Education and Training

4.1. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent, along with vocational training in machining.

4.2. Apprenticeships and certifications (such as from the National Institute for Metalworking Skills) can enhance job prospects
