Our headquarters in Emeryville is where we design, sell, and manufacture machinery that is installed all over the world. We are looking for skilled people to join our Union workforce. We have positions open for Conventional Journeyman Machinists.
By this, we mean that you are more than just a CNC operator or programmer. Setting up modern CNC machinery does not qualify you as what we refer to as a Conventional Journeyman Machinist.
A Conventional Journeyman Machinist is a person who can do the following;
1: Setup a manual lathe, and is proficient at truing material in a 4 jaw chuck
2: Familiar with turning and boring long material in a steady rest
3: Have the ability to hold close tolerances
4: Proficient in reading and understanding drawings, layouts, and conventional millwork.
Familiar with flame straightening is a plus.
Qualifications:
Must pass a written test which consists of measurements, conversions of fractions/decimals, tool descriptions and difference between measurements of sockets among other job-related items. A hands-on test will also be given if you pass the written test.
