We’re looking for an Apprentice Machinist/Mechanic enjoys working on new projects daily . We are a high speed rotating equipment facility with a wide variety of machine tools. The service shop deals with steam turbines, gearboxes, compressors for the steel, oil and gas, power generation, and the food industry.Work with engineers, techs, and welders to support a diverse range of projects. The Machinist/Mechanic Apprentice will support the shop in fabrication and assembly of rotating equipment parts.
Qualifications:
-Must have Strong Mechanical aptitude
-Can work well in teams
-Strong communication skills
-Familiar with hand tools
-Familiar with measuring tools (caliper, Mic, telescopic gauges, dial indicator)
Preferred qualifications:
-1+ year in related mechanical work environment (personal projects qualify such as working on car/motorcycle, hobby welding etc.)
-CNC knowledge
-General machine tool knowledge
-Current student in technical trade (Machinist, mechanic, drafting or other relevant field)
-CAD/CAM knowledge (solidworks, fusion, autodesk etc.)
