Established in 2003, Needles and Pens is an independent and woman-owned boutique located in San Francisco’s Mission district. Needles and Pens curates and sells handmade artist jewelry, ceramics, artist prints, accessories, independent and locally published art books and zines, plants, and more!
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service and a fun shop environment! Weekend availability and retail experience highly desired. Join our awesome team!
Key Responsibilities:
-Greet customers and create a welcoming atmosphere
-Process customer transactions through Square POS and provide gift wrapping services if needed
-Familiarize yourself with products throughout the shop and provide information to customers
-Use good judgement to solve customer issues or concerns
-Responsible for opening and closing the shop and performing other duties in absence of management.
Preferred qualifications:
-Experience with retail sales and customer service
-Excellent communication skills
-Friendly and outgoing personality
-Self-starter
-Excellent work ethic
-Flexible and willingness to learn
-Weekend availability highly preferred
Nice to Have (but not required):
-Experience with Square POS
-Knowledgeable about jewelry, art, vintage clothing, plants, or zines
