Job Description: Interior Design Assistant
Assistant must have experience in the industry or is actively enrolled in an interior design program looking to have a career in the design world. Assistant will work closely with the lead designers and creative director with the opportunity for growth.
Daily Office Tasks:
Source all relevant samples for design presentations; keep samples organized & labeled upon receipt
Keep office sample library up to date with newest products and routinely cull out of date or one off items
Research new and innovative materials for design solutions that can be implemented in everyday projects
Take inventory and keep the office stocked with supplies; stationary, toner, and pens, as well as items needed for the kitchen & restrooms
Assist designers in populating and producing the Bill of Materials spreadsheet once sign off has been reached
Attend off-site business consultations and meetings with designers to take notes and ask questions when necessary
When purchasing on behalf of clients, coordinate purchase from beginning to end, including delivery to site
Plan a monthly San Francisco outing for the team; coordinate showroom appointments, research new museums and art galleries to visit, factory and craftsman tours
Qualifications:
High level of communication skills; corresponding with clients, vendors, and contractors via phone/email
Ability to multi-task and follow up on unfinished tasks
Familiarity with SketchUp, Adobe Suite, and Google Workspace a plus
Create and manage project timelines
Strong organizational skills, detail oriented
Valid Motor Vehicle License required
High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor of Arts degree preferred
Further Tasks:
Run personal errands for creative director when needed
Facilitate the procurement and purchasing of items off Craigslist & FB Marketplace which includes driving around the greater Bay Area
Learn SketchUp independently, take tutorials online, and learn alongside designers
Help with social media campaigns and photo shoots as needed
