SEEKING INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR

Marketing Contractor: Visual design, website, & communications

ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW

The Ownership Capital Lab is a field-building nonprofit initiative, working to bring employee ownership investing into the mainstream. We aim to increase investment into employee ownership by $1 billion within the next five years to create tens of thousands more employee-owners—creating wealth for hard-working employees, their families and children, for generations to come. Employee ownership supports low- and moderate-income workers to achieve economic stability and build wealth, reduces inequity across society, and preserves local businesses and economies.

Ensuring impeccable follow up for audience engagement, and identifying impactful next steps (especially when those next steps might not appear as obvious to other people).

Building out social media accounts and pages, as needed, and maintaining the social media pages for the organization.

Creating fresh and interesting content, collaborating with the team.

Layout and graphic design of white papers or other publications.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

- You have great marketing instincts that enable you to quickly get to the key messages that speak effectively to our target segments of investors, investment advisors and influencers.

- You are hungry to learn about your target audience to enable you to educate, overcome objections, and get them to take action through your marketing.

- You work independently yet know when to connect about key details and for input, guidance, direction, and feedback.

- You never let a detail fall through the cracks, and you sweat the small stuff (efficiently, of course).

- You keep others organized and on track in a way that makes them excited to work with you.

- You know how to "hook" people and get them to take action. And you’re especially good at connecting with all sorts of different people, not just people who are like you.

- You know how to spot opportunities for even more strategic impact and want to provide input into the marketing strategy. - You’re a creative thinker and do-er (emphasis on do-er).

- You are a great communicator: marketing copy, website, social media, email, presentations, virtually and in person. People enjoy engaging with you.

- You know how to create beautiful web content using standard platforms (and are a quick learner).

- You have solid visual / graphic design sensibilities and capabilities (e.g., you can whip out beautiful products in Canva and you know how to navigate the differences between RGB and CMYK).

- You love LinkedIn and know how to use it effectively to grow audience and drive engagement.

- You have used HubSpot for marketing campaigns and are fluent in building online forms, tracking data, segmenting lists, targeting communication to segmented lists, designing and sending e-newsletters, etc.

- You’re excited to work with a small, very agile, fast-moving team.

- You’re hungry to learn: You want to dive in deep and really learn and understand employee ownership and employee ownership investing

- You make things happen. When you say it’s taken care of, it is not only done, but done well.

This is a project-based independent contractor role.

- We are looking for somebody in the Pacific time zone, and we expect the work to be remote.

- Compensation is commensurate with experience.
