Our growing law firm is looking to hire a family attorney who is fiercely passionate about representing clients facing one of the most challenging times in their lives. Candidates should be adept at preparing necessary legal documents in connection with prenuptial agreements, initiating and finalizing divorces, alimony, and child support/child custody. Experience in handling legal issues such as child custody, and domestic violence is also a must.
Responsibilities
Communicate with our legal team to effectively navigate the litigation process.
Assist clients effectively by understanding their needs, analyzing the situation, then strategizing and deciding on a proper course of action
Prepare legal documents such as legal pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgments, and orders for a high volume of cases.
Divide marital assets, including real estate, when necessary, during divorce proceedings
Ensure clients are effectively represented at court hearings as needed.
You are committed to the practice of excellence in family law.
You know how to move a case forward and how to get a case from beginning to completion, and how to strategize for the client's specific, tailored goals with minimal supervision. You will still receive support from other attorneys for collaboration, mentoring if needed, and balancing out workloads/vacations.
You are proactive and resourceful. You don’t have all the answers, but you know how to issue spot, make suggestions, and where to seek answers.
You have a broad-based practice that entails experience in the division of assets, custody, settlement, and litigation. High-asset experience is not required but preferred.
You have trial experience.
You have exceptional interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
You pride yourself on excellent client control and feel comfortable giving clients realistic news.
You ideally reside in the San Francisco Bay Area, but we are open to candidates living in throughout the state, so long as you are able to travel to court appearances and meetings with clients as needed, which we cover.
