Small law firm seeks an individual with 5-years’ civil litigation experience as a California-certified paralegal. Selected applicant will be responsible for assisting two attorneys handling class action wage & hour cases (both plaintiff and employer side), real property suits and transactional matters. Excellent legal research, writing and oral communication skills are a must. Prior experience in employment litigation and human resources is especially helpful. Must be a self-starter and a reliable professional.
In conjunction with the attorneys, the person selected will be responsible for organizing and assisting in propounding and responding to discovery, drafting motions, trial calendaring and trial preparation. Attention to detail, familiarity and compliance with court rules, both federal and state, is critical. A proven track record of successfully calendaring multiple matters is a must. Demonstrated proficiency in Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat and Westlaw/Lexis-Nexis is critical. An established record of successfully e-filing court pleadings in state and federal courts in California is required.
