Estate Planning Paralegal/ Document Preparer/ Document Specialist (Part-Time Only)

Job Description:

- Local real estate, trust and estates, and personal injury firm located in downtown San Jose seeks a responsible, detail oriented, and self-motivated estate planning/paralegal/document preparer or specialist to assist in drafting estate planning for clients.

- Candidate MUST HAVE experience preparing estate planning documents ONLY using LexisNexis California Wills & Trusts such as: Pour-Over Will, HIPAA, AHCD, Durable Power of Attorney, Irrevocable Trust, Revocable Trust, Certification of Trust, Declaration of Trust Ownership of Personal Property, Deeds, Affidavit of Death of Trustee, etc.

- Candidate will evaluate estate planning questionnaire provided by clients and will precisely and effectively draft estate planning documents.

- Candidate will work closely with law firm staff, and/or attorneys.

- Candidate must have exceptional organizational skills. The right candidate must have the ability to efficiently organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them on time with attention to detail and accuracy.

- Candidate should expect to complete 2-4 estate planning packages per week.

Schedule (flexible):

- 10 – 15 hours/week

- Remote position with weekly in-office check-in

- Contracted position only

Experience and Required Qualifications:

- MUST HAVE extensive estate planning drafting experience in LexisNexis California Wills & Trusts

- Knowledge of Probate Judicial Council forms

- Experience with AbacusLaw and AbacusLaw Accounting

- Strong computer literacy skills and keyboard proficiency; preferably includes proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

- Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for

employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

- Ability to reliably commute to Downtown San Jose
