Howard Rome Martin Ridley & Master LLP dba Ridley Master, an AV-rated, San Mateo-based civil defense firm, is looking for an experienced litigation full-time paralegal to join our firm. The firm specializes in public entity and product liability defense.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strong knowledge of California rules and court procedures
Trial preparation, exhibits, trial binders
Drafting pleadings, motions, judicial council forms, and other standard legal
documents
Responding to discovery requests and managing as well as organizing all
discovery materials
Organize documents and coordinate document productions including bate-
stamping, redaction, duplication, and indexing of documents.
Liaison with outside counsel for discovery, trial, and deposition preparations
Strong knowledge of California rules, court/legal procedures, and substantive areas
of law, particularly in the discovery process in civil litigation
Prepare document subpoenas
Review and summarize discovery responses and medical records
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to adhere to strict time deadlines
Strong attention to detail
Exceptional organizational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Products
5+ years of experience desired
Excellent time management skills, strong research and writing skills
Bachelor's Degree and/or successful completion of an ABA-approved program or successful completion of certified paralegal is preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; researching/problem-solving skills
