Smith’s Pest Management has been protecting Bay Area properties from burrowing
rodents and structural pests for over 15 years.
We’re currently hiring a Pest Control Trainee to serve customers in Alameda, Contra Costa,
Santa Clara, and San Mateo Counties.
What We’re Looking For:
Enjoys working independently and outdoors
Interested in protecting landscapes and improving property aesthetics
Takes pride in solving pest problems and making customers happy
Has experience or interest in hands-on trades (landscaping, janitorial, construction,
concrete, etc.)
What You’ll Do:
This is a dynamic support role with lots of variety. You might trap ground squirrels one
day, assist with a rodent exclusion the next, or support a technician team. As a Utility
Technician, you’ll help both our field staff and office team with essential services.
Training is fully provided, and this role is a launchpad to become a Route Technician,
where pay increases significantly through bonuses for completed work. Route technicians
typically earn $65,000–$90,000 annually, depending on efficiency and quality.
Requirements:
Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record
Able to lift up to 75 lbs and work on uneven terrain
Comfortable digging, kneeling, and navigating steep hillsides
Able to speak basic English (for safety and reporting purposes)
Must pass the Branch 2 Structural Pest Control license and Wildlife Trapper certification
within 90 days (we’ll train you)
